We won a competitive pitch to handle PR and web creation work for the Sherford Consortium. The consortium – Bovis, Linden and Taylor Wimpey – will develop a new town in Devon in one of the UK’s biggest community creation projects. We needed to create a buzz around Sherford prior to the community being built.
We quickly took control as the PR ‘hub’ coordinating multiple organisations – private and public sector – to drive a proactive and reactive press office. From a major archaeological dig, to the pioneering Sherford Skills Training Scheme, we are driving the news agenda. The website has been designed, developed and copy written. We also design, write and issue a bi-monthly newsletter.
It is early days, but we have already secured positive media coverage reaching an audience of 43 million, with lead stories on the TV news, local media front covers and national press news pages. Google Analytics demonstrates a clear correlation between media relations activity and website visits. And our newsletters work; with a 75% open rate compared to the industry average of 18%.
